Message from the President

Since joining East Carolina Bank (ECB) a year ago, I am really excited about the opportunities we have to continue to build a truly exceptional community bank. ECB is financially sound, our markets are strong and a solid leadership team is in place.

ECB's strategic focus continues to be to create value for our shareholders. In the next year we plan to accomplish this through focusing on the talent and development of our associates; implement a technology roadmap to better position us for the future; implement initiatives to leverage our effectiveness as an organization through employing best practices; and employ strategies and tools to better understand our customers.

Excellence in Community Banking continues to drive our organization. It starts with the energy, enthusiasm, and excitement that each of our associates brings to work each day. Every choice and decision we make is based on the impact it will have on our customers.

It is for that reason that one of our primary goals is to enhance the experience customers have when they do business with us. Whether someone chooses to bank at one of our branch locations, our ATMs or online through this website, we want the experience to reflect the very best in customer service.

Since 1920, ECB has been a reflection of the communities that we serve and support as a community partner. As an organization, we will continue to grow in a way that is sound and profitable, while keeping pace with the challenges and expectations that face ECB as well as our industry today. We are ready.

I invite you to enjoy our website and learn more about ECB. Recently, I had the opportunity to interview with Lynn Fosse, Senior Editor with CEO/CFO. The interview appeared in the August 13, 2010 issue of the publication. We provide you a link to the article to help you learn more about ECB and how ECB is growing for the future.
